2024 CBRAR Property Services BOD
As a resident of Gloucester County, “The Land Worth Living”, for over 25 years I have come to love this community and all it has to offer. I served the community as a first responder for two decades and have learned that Gloucester has all the benefits of small and larger areas. In a matter of minutes one could go from vast farmlands to waterfront properties to more urban areas. With this knowledge of the area I am uniquely able to find just the right fit for my clients desires.
Rodney has been involved in the real estate and building industry from an early age, starting out cleaning up construction sites and helping out with the family brokerage firm.
Rodney grew up in the local area, spending much of his time between Gloucester and York Counties. After graduating from York High School, Rodney went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction at Virginia Tech. Upon graduating from VT, Rodney worked in homebuilding for a large regional building firm before starting his own homebuilding company in 1998 based in Gloucester. Still currently licensed as a Class A Contractor, he continues to be involved within the construction industry.
The primary occupation, however, in which Rodney participates day-to-day is the role of Managing Associate Broker and REALTOR® at NextHome Coast to Country Real Estate. Rodney has been licensed since 1992 and is involved in the daily workings of this family owned brokerage. His honesty and willingness to help is a driving force in real estate. He educates his customers and clients about the real estate market by thoroughly discussing the process of buying and selling, what is involved, and current trends to keep them up-to-date.
He currently resides in York County with his wife Amanda, while he also owns property in Gloucester County. Rodney has two children, Kylee and Jacob, & two step-children, Kendall and Cameron.

I left “homework” to my colleagues when I retired from teaching after 31 years. I now work with “home”-owners- buying or selling their home.
I don’t “sell”, I “serve”. I am a listener, a researcher, a matchmaker, a negotiator, and a creative problem-solver. I navigate the process, complete countless forms, schedule inspections, protect my clients, coordinate the transaction among clients, agents, inspectors, lenders, and title companies. I meet deadlines and sometimes talk my client off the ledge when it becomes overwhelming. I have been known to help clients pack and move, but that is not on the resume.
In many ways I am still teaching. Clients and students require the same attention. I meet them where they are in the learning process and guide them forward. I love what I do and value the lasting friendships I have made.
My “not-working” hobbies include quilting, reading, and/or listening to books on Audible, gardening and lunches with friends.
